We also lay emphasis on diversity among participants in terms of academia, culture, religion, gender and experiential backgrounds in bringing a range of perspectives to bear on discussions.. The process stimulates learning, and serves as a tool for developing problem solving skills.. This also stimulates the cognitive process and allows participants to acquire new knowledge through autodidactism, (self-directed learning/learning on your own or by yourself).. This approach is centred on the following tenets;.. Acknowledging that participants are all matured, they variously have experiences in peace and security issues which they comfortably share, so it is participants centred.. CPBL in small groups allows participants to recollect what they already know, identify what they need to know and how and where to access information for solving a problem as peers contribute to discussions and cite sources..
