    Descriptive info: Library Cards:.. Library Cards are free to anyone who lives, works, attends school, or owns property in Hawkins County.. Non-residents whose library participates in the Tennessee Library Card program and who are in good standing with their home library are also eligible for a library card.. You must have a photo ID and proof of your address in order to obtain a library card.. Library Cards are required to check out materials within the Hawkins County Library System.. The card holder is responsible for all items borrowed on the card as well as fines, fees, and any other costs associated with recovery of overdue or non-returned items.. A parent or guardian must sign a responsibility statement for minors under the age of 16.. A $5.. 00 replacement fee applies for lost, stolen, or damaged cards.. Borrowing Guidelines:.. For the first 30 days there is a limit of two items.. After the first 30 days the borrower may check out:.. a maximum of 10 items.. no more than three (3) videos or DVDs.. no more than three (3) items by the same author.. no more than three (3) items on the same subject.. Books, Magazines, and Audios can be checked out for up to 14 days.. DVDS and Videos can be checked out for  ...   Hill numbers} of your patron barcode..     Descriptive info: The H.. Stamps Memorial Library was the first substantive library in the city of Rogersville.. Previous to the opening of the H.. Stamps Memorial Library, the first library in Rogersville was organized in the month of July 1941.. In 1975, the H.. Stamps Library Board and the Hawkins County Library Board merged and purchased land for a new library.. The purchase of the Kenner property located at 407 East Main Street was successful and a grant for $54,000 was received for the building of a new library and community center.. The new H..   • Title: Friends of the H. B. Stamps Memorial Library Rogersville
    Descriptive info: Welcome!.. The Friends of the H.. Stamps Memorial Library is a non-profit organization.. It principally consists of dues paying members including local businesses.. Purpose:.. to support the library through service and purchasing to meet the demands of their patrons and to help publicize the library within the community.. Fund Raising:.. The FOL currently raises monies through membership drives and an annual book sale.. Services:.. to help with the summer reading program and attending the library monthly board meetings.. Activities:.. the FOL has purchased furniture and bookcases at the request of the librarians when there are insufficient funds within the county/city budgets.. We have also publicized library events and activities in the Rogersville Review.. The annual book sale starts with a book drive in August.. During this time, we collect books at several locations around town.. Also, there is an ad run in the newspaper letting people know where they  ...   Senior Citizens Center adjacent to the library.. The tables and books are set up on Friday afternoon and evening.. Saturday, the book sale starts at 9:00 a.. m.. for Friends of the Library and then 10:00 a.. for the public (membership may be purchased at the early viewing).. The sale generally ends around 4:00 p.. after the frantic last half hour of $1/bag (less for us to pack up and store for the next year).. The books are then moved to storage.. This fund raising event has raised $800 to $900 each year.. A portion of the funds raised is thanks to the Rogersville City School Beta Club who provides cookies and sells them along with drinks during the one-day book sale.. The FOL has also hosted several evening activities including a farewell and welcome party for our librarians and a get to know the library for our local representatives..
