  • Title: About Us
Descriptive info: Association Information.. Creed.. The only religious creed to which members shall be required to subscribe without reservation shall be the following:.. We unqualifiedly affirm and believe in the plenary, verbal inspiration of God in the original languages of the Bible (both the Old and New Testaments); and is the only authority of Christian faith and practice.. (II Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.. Psalm 100:5, 160; John 17:17, II Peter 1:21).. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.. (Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Genesis1:1, John 10:30, 37-38).. We believe in the Genesis account of the creation of man by the direct act of God.. (Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.. Genesis 1 and 2).. We believe in the incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ; His sinless life, His miracles, His deity and identification as the Son of God; His vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross; the resurrection of His body from the tomb; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory; and His power to save men from sin; (Matthew 1:21-23).. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-23, Luke 1:35, John 2:11, 11:25; Acts 1:11, II Corinthians 5:21, Ephesians 1:7, Philippians 2:5-10, Colossians 1:14, Hebrews 4:15, 7:25, 9:12; I Peter 2:22, Revelation 19:11-16).. We believe that man is sinful by nature and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential and an absolute necessity for his salvation.. Sinful man is wholly saved  ...   of damnation.. I Corinthians 15:42-58, John 5:28, 29, Rev.. 20:11-15).. We reject any attempt to reinterpret Scripture in light of modern moral or psychological theories.. In the Biblical account of creation, the family was the first societal institution ordained by God.. (Genesis 1:27; 2:18-22) Furthermore, Scripture plainly declares that the first two humans created by God were a man and a woman.. (Genesis 1:27; 2:18-22) God commanded the man and the woman to be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth.. (Genesis 1:28) Accordingly, all forms of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God s gift of sex.. (Genesis 2:24; 19:5; 13; 26:8-9; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; I Corinthians 5:1; 6:9; I Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4) Since we believe that all sexual activity outside of a marriage between a man and a woman, including homosexual practices, are in direct opposition to God s Word and constitute a direct contradiction to God s institution of the home, we will not retain in membership any school who promotes by their faculty, homosexual behavior or any other sexual activity outside of a Biblical marriage.. This Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith.. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe.. Mission.. The mission of the Georgia Association of Christian Schools is to promote and support the development of quality Christian education in the state of Georgia.. GACS desires to develop Christian character in students by providing member schools with programs that are conducive to mental, moral, spiritual, aesthetic, and physical development.. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.. Luke 2:52.. History.. The Georgia Association of Christian Schools (GACS) was organized in 1970 with ten (10) charter members for the purpose of coordinating the activities of a conservative group of Christian schools within the state.. Over the years, it has provided a means of disseminating needed information, protecting Christian schools from government encroachment, and offering an increasing number of services and programs to its member schools.. GACS was incorporated under the laws of the State of Georgia on March 3, 1976, and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.. The Association lists a membership of over sixty schools with a total membership of more than 9,000 students in 2008-2009..

  • Title: Reasons for Accreditation
Descriptive info: Educational quality in Christian schools is essential.. While there are a number of reasons why this is true, the three reasons given below are the most persuasive:.. A Scriptural ministry, such as Christian education, is accountable to the Lord.. II Corinthians 5:10 states, For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.. Those involved in Christian education are primarily accountable to God for quality results.. With such weight of responsibility, it is wise to request the assistance of godly, trained fellow servants because.. in the multitude of counselors there is safety  ...   as non-believers who may judge our Lord by the impact of what we do and what we offer in the Christian school.. Christian education, like any ministry, must offer effective curricular and instructional programs as a testimony to the Lord.. A Scriptural ministry which is dependent upon consumers of that ministry, as is the case of the Christian school, must offer a quality program to those involved in the ministry.. Otherwise, they will no longer participate in the school program.. In this case, accreditation becomes one means of serving the interests of everyone involved.. It has been observed that those Christian schools which are growing are schools that have a great concern for quality.. Next:..
